A very happy 15-year anniversary to Susanne, one of Arq’s longest-tenured team members!
Susanne’s career with Arq began when she was interviewed for a construction office assistant position at our Red River plant as construction began. Instead, she was offered the Site Administrator position at the Campti location known as “Crowfoot Supply Co.” which is said to be named after a coffee shop in Colorado. She was excited about the opportunity to work at a company close to her home in Coushatta that offered good jobs with good wages. She has watched the Supply Chain Department develop from just a few people to where it is now and she really enjoys the camaraderie, both inside and outside the company.
When Susanne was promoted to Sr. Logistics Coordinator, she was excited to be recognized and eagerly wanted to share what she had learned over the years with others. When asked about her time at the company, Susanne mentions one thing repeatedly: “the people ”. “The interaction with everyone that has crossed my path in 15 years, whether momentarily or regularly, has been a particular blessing to me. Relationships developed over months and years, both tangible and intangible. And I cherish each one, even in the most trying times.”
If you know Susanne, then you know she is a proud mother of 2 grown daughters, 2 son-in-laws, and grandmother to 4 granddaughters and 1 grandson. Susanne is a PROUD and active member of the VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) Auxiliary and served as State President from 2016-2017 and will be the Chief of Staff for the incoming State President (2024-2025). She’s an active member of the First Methodist Church in Coushatta, and she enjoys piano, painting, ceramics, cooking, and, yes, PS2 & PS4 games. When asked which she prefers: Crawfish or Rocky Mountain Oysters, she said, “Crawfish on occasion, but no, no, no on the Rocky Mountain Oysters.”
Susanne hopes to retire from Arq, “simply doing what I’m doing now, for as long as I can, and as long as
Arq needs me.”
Susanne’s passion for her work is evident. She enjoys being productive, learning new things, and leading a life that is not dull or boring. Her dedication to her work is truly inspiring.
“My time at ARQ has NEVER been dull. I’ve always felt like some of my best productivity has been accomplished here. I do take courses from time to time to try to better hone my skills, but I can learn just as much by watching and listening to others.”
